Open Houses (Map to Nursery)
Specialty Growers is located on 10 acres midway between Brighton and Howell in Livingston County. The pastoral setting serves as both the home and business of owner Karen Bovio. During Open Houses, gardeners are welcome to shop the entire Specialty Growers stock while they enjoy the country atmosphere and admire the spectacular floral displays.

Our staff is on hand to assist with the selection  of plants and to answer gardening questions. Cookies and lemonade are available, and often a guest speaker is on hand to talk about plants. Specialty Growers Open Houses offer a delightful way to shop and get acquainted with other garden enthusiasts. The hours for Open Houses are 9 am to 5 pm.

Brighton
Farmer’s Market (Click for Map)

Specialty Growers has been selling perennials and herbs at the Brighton Farmer’s Market since 1984. The Market is held every Saturday from May through October in the parking lot off First Street, adjacent to the Mill Pond in downtown Brighton. We set up our plant stand and display area for retail sales between 8 am and 1 pm on Saturdays from
May 13th through June 10th. Be sure to look for our white van with the yellow daylily painted on the side.

Each week we feature an assortment of perennials, herbs, unusual annuals and seasonal gourmet vegetable plants. The selection changes from week to week, so customers always stop by to see what’s new and different. Our knowledgeable staff can answer your gardening questions and advise you on the selection and care of your plants.

Group Visits
We are always happy to have garden clubs and other interested groups visit Specialty Growers to see our nursery operation and gardens in bloom and to shop for unusual plants. If you would like more information or wish to set up an appointment for your group,
